PURPOSE:

The goals of the Kentucky Speleological Survey, Inc. are:

  1. to gather, archive, curate, and distribute cave and karst data of the Commonwealth of Kentucky,
  2. to further the study of cave and karst resources for conservation, research, and scientific exploration, and
  3. to provide a permanent, non-profit, non-sectarian, cooperative organization that works to establish and nurture a professional atmosphere among individuals and organizations that support the foregoing purposes.

MISSION STATEMENT:

The Kentucky Speleological Survey (KSS) is an organization of cavers dedicated to the study of cave and karst resources throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

To further these goals, the KSS gathers and archives existing information on caves and karst resources.  As an organization, we look to share data and collaborate with individuals and organizations to further gather information on the conservation, research, and exploration, including the discovery, survey, and mapping of caves, throughout the state.

We only share data that promotes the organizational goals of conservation, research, and exploration of caves throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

VISION:

To be the primary source of cave information about and for the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
